Index AR Solutions client Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) was recently recognized by the Southeastern Electric Exchange (SEE) with its Chairman’s Award for the company’s Integrated Apprentice Training platform. Index played a key role in the development of the platform’s Apprentice Line Specialist program, which is being built around a digital curriculum of Index eBooks and mobile apps.

FPL’s award is the latest in a string of recognition that major training and education solutions designed in partnership with Index have received. In February, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) President Rob Denson penned an op-ed for the Des Moines Register touting the classroom training offering that Index helped build for DMACC with MidAmerican Energy Company.

The digital curriculum created by Index was described as a “key enabler” in the program, one with broad application to other industries.

Similar materials from Index, with a focus on Apprentice Line Specialists, are being used in the program being built for FPL.

Each year, SEE member utility companies submit their best projects to compete with other member utilities in hopes of winning one of the prestigious SEE Industry Excellence Awards.

Projects are judged based on achievements, innovation, improvements, requirements met and technical complexity. The SEE Chairman’s Award is a special award designated by the conference chairman, which honors one project that is deemed most outstanding of all category winners – the “Best of the Best.”
