Index AR Solutions was recently noted in a Forbes article as being one of the charter members of the Anterix Active Ecosystem Program, an initiative designed to accelerate the delivery, deployment and application of private broadband for the U.S. electric grid.

The program was launched on May 10, 2021 by Anterix, the largest licensed holder of 900 MHz spectrum. Anterix is using that spectrum as the foundation on which major utilities and other enterprises can build safe, private communication networks.

Index and the 36 other charter members of the Anterix Active Ecosystem Program play a key role in creating applications that will help Anterix customers get maximum value from their broadband investment.

Index has significant experience building eBooks and mobile apps for utilities to help workers become safer, more capable and more efficient. This is especially relevant for utilities taking advantage of new technology such as the broadband solutions offered by Anterix.

For example, Index created a mobile app for Ameren – an Anterix customer – that provides a more efficient way to troubleshoot and replace thousands of routers and modems in its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI).

Ameren chose to have these procedures performed by their own linemen rather than contractors, but they needed a tool to help their linemen complete new, less familiar tasks safely and efficiently with minimal quality escapes.
