The Index team met with aspiring engineers at the 2026 Virginia Tech Engineering Expo, held September 15–17 on the university’s campus. Now in its 47th year, the student-run career fair brought together thousands of engineering students and more than 250 participating companies to explore internships and full-time opportunities. It is one of the largest student-run events of its kind, according to the Virginia Tech Student Engineers’ Council.
David Arczynski, Director of Operations; and Henry Mast, Senior App Engineer; and Suna Veal, Human Resource Manager represented Index at the event. They spoke with students about opportunities in app and software engineering.
Attendees were polished and prepared to make the most of those conversations, having arrived with resumes, researched participating companies and were ready to interview. At the booth, Index team members explained how the company develops digital tools that augment reality, not people. Students shared their own experiences with traditional textbooks and learned more about Index’s approach to multimodal learning and workforce training.
The conversations led to more than 200 resumes submitted to Index. The team narrowed the pool to 40 candidates, held 20 meet-and-greets and conducted 20-minute interviews with 10 students on the Expo’s final day.
For candidates who continue through the process, Index offers an exploratory conversation about the company, its products and its culture, including demonstrations of Index eBooks and apps. Later steps include an app-development exercise, a technical discussion of the candidate’s approach and a formal interview focused on values, benefits and growth opportunities.
The Expo gave Index a chance to meet emerging talent face to face while sharing how its team creates tools for learning on the job. For the students who connected with Index, those conversations could be the beginning of a career building the next generation of workforce training solutions.Learn more about career opportunities at indexarsolutions.com/careers.
